Our Approach
At Diabetes Wellness Consulting, we recognize that one size does not fit all. Measures to support the treatment, remission, and prevention of type 2 diabetes must be individualized. However, based on my lifetime professional experience, the intervention most likely to achieve health targets for patients with type 2 diabetes involves dietary changes towards whole food plant-predominant meals. My perspective as it relates to health drives me to utilize proven means of optimizing the well-being of clients rather than managing their illness. Optimal health doesn’t mean one has to be 100% plant based. However, a whole-food, plant-predominant diet (including water) is shown to have the greatest health benefit. If one chooses to consume meat or fish, treating it as more of a condiment, and not consuming it at every meal or every day is recommended. Clean animals that graze on grass, clean pasture-raised poultry, clean and cold water fish are better options. When modifying your eating plan towards whole-food plant-predominant - dose matters. The higher the dose, the better the results. See My Testimonial validating the effectiveness of lifestyle modification - after a 5-week whole-food plant-based program.
Other evidence-based therapeutic interventions for treating and reversing type 2 diabetes and co-existing conditions such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol include the following: Regular Physical Activity, Restorative Sleep, Stress Management, Social Connection, and Avoidance of Risky Substances.
